SENASA Import Requirements
To enter Peru successfully, your pet must comply with the following regulations:
- Microchip: An ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchip is highly recommended for international travel and required by most airlines.
- Rabies Vaccination: Must be administered between 21 days and 12 months prior to entry.
- Core Vaccinations: Dogs must be vaccinated against Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, and Leptospirosis. Cats must be vaccinated against Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus.
- Parasite Treatment: Administered by a vet within 30 days of travel.
- USDA Health Certificate: An accredited veterinarian must issue a health certificate for Peru, which must be endorsed by the USDA within 14 days of travel.
Arrival & Clearance at LIM
Upon landing in Lima:
- Your pet will be inspected by SENASA officials at the cargo terminal.
- An import permit (Certificado Zoosanitario de Importación) is generated upon arrival based on your USDA paperwork.
